ANJUNA: In a major turn of events in Sagar Naik murder case in Anjuna, sources now claim that the death was due to a heart attack and no injuries.
Sources said that the CCTV footage shows Sagar naik attacking the tourists, and tourists fled from there.
While he returned back, he collapsed.
The post-mortem on Sagar Naik was conducted today at GMC, and reports are awaited.
Police sources said that the five tourists have been detained but not arrested, awaiting post mortem report.
According to police omplaint, Sagar working as a parking attendant near Anjuna beach, started bleeding profusely and succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital.
The incident happened at around noon when teh Karnataka tourists wanted to park their Tata Sumo vehicle without paying parking fees.
According to police, the incident happened near Anjuna 11 Restaurant, near Anjuna Beach, Anjuna, Bardez Goa and the motive was a sudden quarrel.
The slapping caused the victim injuries, and he later succumbed to the injuries on the way to St. Anthony Hospital, Anjuna.
PI Suraj Gawas took swift action, and all five male persons i.e. occupants of Tata Sumo jeep bearing no. KA 01-P-7326 was detained at Border check post Pollen, Canacona, with the help of Canacona Police.
Further investigation is in progress with Suraj H. Gawas, Police Inspector, Anjuna Police Station, under the supervision of SP North and SDPO Mapusa.
