Anjuna: A restaurant-cum-club in Anjuna was sealed by authorities on Tuesday for allegedly flouting noise pollution norms and continuing operations despite an earlier suspension order, officials said.
The Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) had on June 18 suspended the operations of the establishment, identified as ‘Ms Diaz,’ for failing to comply with mandatory noise monitoring requirements.
During a recent inspection, GSPCB officials found that the club’s online noise monitoring system had been deliberately concealed inside a wooden box, rendering it ineffective and preventing the recording of ambient sound data as mandated under regulatory guidelines.
The Board concluded that the club had violated its “consent to operate” conditions and issued orders to suspend operations, officials added.
