Panaji:
Anjuna Police have detained a 27-year-old woman from Haryana and her Maharashtra-based partner in connection with the suicide of the woman’s husband, who was found hanging from a tree in Dobh village, Rohtak, on June 18.
Acting on a request from the Bahuakbarpur Police Station in Haryana, Anjuna Police traced the accused—identified as Divya (27) and Deepak (36), a police constable from Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad), Maharashtra—who were hiding in the Anjuna area. Based on local intelligence inputs, a police detection team located and detained the duo, handing them over to Haryana police the same evening.
The case involves serious allegations of mental harassment and emotional torture. According to Haryana Police, the deceased, identified as Magan, had recorded a suicide video naming his wife Divya and her alleged lover Deepak as responsible for his death. In the video, Magan accused the duo of mentally harassing him and claimed that Divya was involved in an extramarital relationship with Deepak.
Family members of the deceased have further alleged that Divya had recently sent Magan a video of herself dancing intimately with Deepak, which was filmed shortly before his death. They claim this act of provocation, coupled with ongoing harassment, drove him to suicide.
Haryana Police have taken custody of the accused for further investigation..
