CANACONA: An empty fish-container returning to Ankola(Karnataka) went off the highway while trying a save a couple overtaking an oncoming truck at Maxem slope on Thursday afternoon in Canacona.
The empty fish container bearing registration number KA30 A1575 broke a roadside traffic signboard, before going down and came to a standstill after hitting a Tree down below.
Luckily, the driver found himself safe and sound after the mishap informed with a aim to save hitting a motorbike borne couple coming in opposite direction overtaking a truck plying in same direction, he was forced to swirl the steering which saw his container going off the road , hitting a roadside traffic signalboard before hitting a tree below and came to a standstill.
The container however missing hitting a n electricity pole. If it was not for the tree the vehicle could have dgone down atleast 100 metres below.
The driver informed that he was returning back after emptying fish which he had carried from Ankola and was driving the empty container going up the Maxem plateau and he had to save the couple on a bike overtaking a truck coming in his opposite direction. Incidentally, the container suffered sevcere damages particularly to its front portion.
