Mumbai: Apollo Tyres has officially taken over as the lead sponsor of the Indian cricket team, signing a landmark three-year agreement with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) valued at ₹579 crore. The deal gives the tyre major prominent branding rights on the jerseys of both the men’s and women’s national teams across all formats and tournaments.
The sponsorship, which begins immediately, will see Apollo Tyres’ logo featured on Team India’s kits for all bilateral series as well as ICC events. This includes high-profile competitions such as the ICC Champions Trophy and the ICC Women’s World Cup.
BCCI’s statement
Welcoming Apollo Tyres on board, BCCI president Roger Binny said the partnership reflects the global stature of Indian cricket. “We are pleased to have Apollo Tyres as the new lead sponsor. This collaboration underscores the continued commercial strength of Indian cricket, and we look forward to a successful association that will inspire fans and players alike,” Binny said.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah echoed the sentiment, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships. “The Indian team represents passion, perseverance and excellence. Apollo Tyres shares these values, and this agreement will go a long way in building memorable milestones together,” Shah remarked.
Apollo Tyres’ perspective
On its part, Apollo Tyres described the sponsorship as an opportunity to strengthen its brand presence globally. The company, which has a strong international footprint in Europe and other markets, said the visibility offered by Indian cricket would help in building deeper consumer connections.
Satish Sharma, President of Apollo Tyres Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA), said: “This partnership with the Indian cricket team is more than just branding—it is about celebrating the spirit of sports and connecting with millions of fans across the world. We are proud to support Team India as they aim for glory on the global stage.”
A high-value agreement
The ₹579 crore deal places Apollo Tyres among the biggest sponsors in Indian cricket history. It succeeds the previous agreement held by another corporate sponsor and comes at a time when Indian cricket continues to attract record viewership and commercial interest worldwide.
For Apollo Tyres, the association with cricket adds to its growing portfolio of sports partnerships, which already includes global football clubs and motorsport events. For the BCCI, the agreement strengthens its revenue base and ensures continued financial support for both men’s and women’s cricket development programs.
With this three-year deal, Apollo Tyres’ logo will now become one of the most visible emblems in world cricket, symbolising a partnership between Indian sport’s most powerful brand and one of India’s leading global companies.
