Panaji: Archbishop Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao has extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to the Catholic community and all people of goodwill, conveying a message of peace, justice, humility and love.
In his Christmas message, the Archbishop said Christmas is a celebration of God’s love for humanity, noting that the all-powerful God humbled Himself by becoming part of His own Creation in order to uplift it and reunite it with Himself.
Reflecting on the present global situation, where power and strength are often glorified, Archbishop Ferrao observed that peace and justice seem like distant dreams. He said the Child born in Bethlehem delivers a powerful message that love, combined with humility, has the strength to create a world founded on peace, justice and fraternity.
He expressed hope that the spirit of Christmas would inspire people to bring peace to a disturbed world, justice to the oppressed and fraternal love to families, neighbourhoods and those in need.
Along with Auxiliary Bishop Simiao Fernandes, Archbishop Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao wished the entire Catholic community and all people of goodwill a joyful and blessed Christmas. He also extended greetings for a happy Christmas and a blessed New Year, praying that the love and peace of Jesus remain with everyone always.
