Panaji: The Archdiocesan Board of Education (ABE) celebrated All Goa Institutions’ Day on February 13, 2026, under the theme “Educating for Hope and Transformation,” bringing together dignitaries, educators and students from across the State.
The function was presided over by His Eminence Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão, President of the ABE, while Rev. Fr. Pedro Rodrigues attended as the chief guest. Auxiliary Bishop Simiao Purificacào Fernandes and several other clergy and office bearers of the ABE were present.
The programme began with a welcome address followed by a prayer dance presented by students of St. Mary’s of the Angels Convent High School, setting a reflective tone for the celebration. A prayer service followed, uniting the gathering in gratitude and purpose.
Fr. Anand D. Souza extended a formal welcome, while Fr. Tony Alemao presented the annual report, outlining the milestones achieved and reaffirming the Board’s commitment to educational excellence.
A major highlight of the event was the felicitation of 107 educators from across Goa who have completed over three decades of dedicated service in the field of education. Cardinal Ferrão expressed heartfelt appreciation for their unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds and shaping society.
The ABE Souvenir was also officially launched on the occasion, symbolising the collective spirit and accomplishments of the educational community.
In his address, the chief guest underscored that societal transformation begins with humane values and urged all present to work towards building a compassionate and hopeful society through education.
The theme song, composed by Mrs. Aurora D’Souza, was performed by students of Rosary High School, inspiring the audience with its uplifting message. The celebration concluded with the National Anthem performed by the brass band of St. Theresa High School, marking a fitting end to the event.
The well-organised programme reflected the Archdiocesan Board of Education’s continued dedication to nurturing hope, fostering transformation and shaping a brighter future through education.
