PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party asked the Chief Minister as to why he wanted teachers to be in schools on daily basis when he preferred to end assembly in a mere 3 hours fearing covid infection to MLAs.
Stating that the hypocrisy of the government was out in the open, AAP Education cell leader Richard Dsa said that there were reports of several cases of infections among teachers in July last when the government defied centre’s orders only to relent in the last 5 days.
He said that now again the government was back to forcing teachers to work from schools without justification as the centre was firm on not reopening schools until 31st of August.
“Safety of students rests on the safety of teachers.
The government should abide the the government of India’s orders and atleast give an option to teachers to work from home.
The same government that ran away from assembly session fearing covid is forcing teachers into schools” said Dsa further stating that government should accord respect to teachers’ right to life.
