CANACONA: While vector borne diseases has become a reality, concerned residents of Palolem have began Health Awareness Programme to avoid dengue and malaria cases effecting the people of Canacona.
‘From Sunday onwards, we have started with the health awareness programme along with fogging of areas to thwart mosquitoes menace going from door-to-door in our ward no.10 at Palolem’, informed Congress leader Gasper Coutinho.
Coutinho, further informed that they go along from door to door they are also explaining to the people of how to control and avert mosquitoes breeding in their surroundings, and also simultaneously the fogging out mosquitoes from around their houses.
According to Coutinho , bringing awareness and fogging of completed for around 35 houses in Ourem- Palolem belt.
Activists had to abandon fogging in-between as the mosquitoes fogging machine broke down due to overheating. The fogging will be continued in the remaining houses after the machine is received back from repair.
Palolem residents expressed gratitude to the health department for their continuous support to the people of Canacona.-
