PANAJI: Maharashtra’s young tennis player Ashwin Narsinghani progressed to the third round of the men’s singles at the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026, defeating Arnav Bansode 6–2. The Open category of the prestigious tournament continued at a brisk pace, with matches held at both the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and Panjim Gymkhana courts.
Several notable performances marked the day’s action at the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias courts. Raoul dominated Ojus 6–0, while Vishwambhar secured a 6–0 victory over Atharva Paranjape. Nitesh Bhansali edged past Shreyas Sankaran 7–5, and Shrish Lohiya defeated Vidaal 6–1. Sreyas Prasad claimed a hard-fought 7–5 win against Rushil, and Subhash Nayar beat Pankaj Naik 6–1. Maaz Khan blanked Vinod 6–0, and Ashwin Narsinghani followed up with a 6–1 win over Santosh D. Other results included Rushil defeating Amulya 6–0, Ashwath D overcoming Neal Gandhi 6–1, and Arnav Bansode claiming a 6–1 win against Amber Yadav. Raviteja Damera, Shrish Lohiya, Prathmesh Patil, Santosh D, Joshua Cardozo, Maaz Khan, Shreyas Sankaran, Ashwath D, Paul Singh, Vinod Chandra, and Parth Deorukhakar also advanced with victories in their respective matches.
At the Panjim Gymkhana courts, Ryan Sodhi started his campaign with a 6–1 win over Rahul Jain, while Kshitij Gupta defeated Siddharth Nunes 6–1. Arnav Harishankar overcame Sreenath 6–3, Praneeth V beat Sonu Todu 6–2, Neale Fernandes narrowly won 7–5 against Omkar Sathe, Sujit Sahoo defeated Bhalchandra Gaitonde 6–4, and Mohith Manoharan advanced with a 6–4 win over Aayush Chawla.
Doubles matches also produced exciting results, with Shrish Lohiya and Aaditya Lahori winning 7–6 (3) over Bhalchandra Gaitonde and Ganesh, Harren A and Omkar Sathe blanking Shivam Singh and Suraj Pombra 6–0, and Mohith Manoharan partnering with Krishna Volvoikar to defeat Shivam Pande and Tejas Gaikwad 6–2.
Jointly organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group, in association with the Goa State Tennis Association (GSTA), the tournament has drawn a record 555 entries across the Masters and Open segments, highlighting its growing prominence in the Indian tennis calendar.
