PANAJI: The Main accused in the Assagao house demolition case Pooja Sharma today has filed for anticipatory bail before Panaji Sessions Court.
Sharma yesterday had expressed her inability to join the investigation today and accordingly skipped the summons.
Crime Branch investigating the sensational case had summoned her today with regards to her involvement in the Assagao demolition case. Sharma has sought a new date for her appearance.
Since the contentious demolition on June 22, Sharma has escaped and avoided the authorities, who have been unable to locate her.
She might be watching the news, I suppose. We now know that she will look for more time. But until we hear from her or her attorney in writing, nothing is certain,” the sources stated.
Pooja Sharma was summoned by the SIT-CB again to appear on July 1st, as she had not replied to the previous Anjuna police investigation team’s summons.
Even though the first FIR only included two sections—365 and 427 of the IPC—more sections and accused parties will keep being added to the case diary, according to SP Gupta. The FIR now includes the recent arrests of bouncers who were part of the crowd.
“It depends on the emerging facts,” he responded when asked if Pooja Sharma should be put under arrest. We’ll attempt to determine what her role was, and then we’ll make our decision. Whether she is related to a high-ranking IPS officer has not been confirmed.”
