PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that action would be taken in the Assagao house demolition case.
“100 per cent action would be taken in the Assagao house demolition case. Such acts won’t be tolerated,” said Sawant
A Dona Paula-based real estate business owner had been arrested by Anjuna Police for his alleged involvement in the Assagao house demolition.
The accused is identified as 51-year-old Arshad Khwaja. The JCB driver involved in the demolition was arrested by police yesterday.
Meanwhile, Calangute MLA Michael Lobo & Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo visited the family whose house was demolished by a Delhi-based builder at Assagao.
Michael said the accused builder needs to immediately give money to the family to rebuild the demolished house.
Lobo asked why the broker (Arshand Khawaja) had been arrested. He demanded that the main accused (Delhi-based builder) who gave the order should be arrested. Lobo said properties in Assagao are being sold at Rs.1 lakh per square meter and all the people from Delhi, Haryana, Bengaluru, and Mumbai want a piece of Assagao.
Michael & Delilah said that if the main accused is not arrested then they will sit every day in front of the police station & protest
