OLD GOA: A 20-year-old Assamese youth has been arrested by the Old Goa Police on charges of rape after he allegedly abducted a young girl from the Old Goa region.
Abu Ansar has been recognised as the accused. Police say that on January 1, 2025, the 14-year-old girl’s father reported that the child had been abducted by an unidentified individual.
In this connection registered Old Goa Police Station Crime No. 01/2025 u/sec 137(2) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 and Section 8 of Goa Children Act. And Investigation teams were formed and dispatched under supervision of SP North Akshat Kaushal.
That during the course of investigation victim minor girl was traced and was rescued and suspect Abu Ansar, age- 20 yrs, n/o Assam was taken into custody and then incidence of sexual assault on minor victim girl at near beach in panaji came in light
Accordingly section 65(1) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 and section 4 & 8 of the POCSO Act was adduced to the case.
Accused was arrested and remanded to 7 days Police Custody
