Panaji: The Government of Goa has onboarded the Atal Asra Yojana on an online platform to make it easier for eligible beneficiaries to apply for housing assistance.
The scheme, notified on October 21, 2021, aims to provide financial support for the construction, reconstruction and repair of houses for economically weaker sections of society, including SC and OBC communities. The assistance is provided in addition to benefits received under schemes such as Indira Awas Yojana or Rajiv Awas Yojana.
Under the scheme, financial assistance of ₹1.5 lakh is provided for house repairs, while ₹3 lakh is granted for construction or reconstruction of houses. The income eligibility criteria for applicants is up to ₹3 lakh per annum.
The government has now launched the online portal atalasra.com, which became operational on February 16, 2026. Citizens have been urged to apply through the portal and spread awareness about the scheme so that eligible beneficiaries can avail its benefits.
