ANJUNA: Anjuna Police have registered a case against a local resident for allegedly accommodating a foreign national without adhering to mandatory immigration protocols, in violation of the Foreigners Act, 1946.
The accused, Mr. Param Ulhas Warty, 36, a resident of Siolim in North Goa’s Bardez taluka, has been booked under Section 14(C) of the Foreigners Act for illegally housing an Israeli national, identified as Mr. Yaniv Benaim, also known as Atala, in his apartment—Casa Juliana—located in Siolim.
According to police sources, Benaim had been residing in the apartment for the past four months. However, Warty allegedly failed to submit the required C-Form to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in Panaji, a mandatory requirement when accommodating foreign nationals in India.
“The omission constitutes a violation under the Foreigners Act, which mandates landlords and hospitality providers to report details of any foreign guests staying on their premises,” said a police official familiar with the investigation.
The case was registered under Crime No. 64/2025 at Anjuna Police Station, and an investigation into the matter is currently underway.
Authorities have reiterated the importance of compliance with immigration reporting norms, emphasizing that any lapses pose serious concerns in terms of national security and regulatory enforcement.
