Vasco: Vasco Police have launched an investigation into an attempted burglary reported at the Canara Bank branch in Vasco.
According to police sources, the complaint was lodged by Mr. Mohan Kumar Saikia, Branch In-Charge of Canara Bank, Vasco. The complainant stated that on January 5, 2026, prior to 1.49 am, an unknown accused person gained unauthorised entry into the Canara Bank premises through a rear-side washroom window by opening the steel grill.
The intruder allegedly attempted to cut open the steel door of the bank’s locker room with the intention of committing theft. However, the attempt was unsuccessful and no loss of cash or valuables has been reported so far.
Upon receiving the complaint, Vasco Police registered the offence and initiated an investigation. Further investigation in the case is being carried out by LPSI Priyanka Patil of Vasco Police Station.
