Team Goemkarponn MARGAO: The Goa State Horticulture Corporation (GSHC) has called for greater participation from local farmers and increased vegetable production to meet the state’s rising consumption needs. According to GSHC Managing Director Chandrahas Desai, 1,273 farmers supplied a total of 1,662 metric tonnes of vegetables to the corporation during the 2024–25 financial year. Desai highlighted that Goa’s daily vegetable requirement stands at around 300 tonnes. Team Goemkarponn    Ponda: In a swift operation, Goa Police, with assistance from Karnataka authorities, have arrested Munir Al Shafiq (22), a Mangaluru resident, in connection with the daylight abduction of Ponda-based businessman Sandeep Chaudhary (32). The police revealed that the kidnapping stemmed from a business dispute between the two men.   Chaudhary, who runs a factory in Kundaim, reportedly owed Shafiq, who owns a scrap factory in Mangaluru, Rs 40 lakh. Team Goemkarponn DABOLIM: Vaishnavi Manerikar, a resident of Davorlim, Salcete, has reported that on June 9, 2025, at around 8:20 AM, an unknown male on a black two-wheeler snatched her gold mangalsutra while she was near the Shripad Shrivallab Temple in Mugalli, Davorlim. The mangalsutra, valued at approximately ₹1,39,000, was worn by the complainant at the time of the incident. The accused escaped immediately after the theft.
