Team Goemkarponn QUEPEM: The Directorate of Mines and Geology (DMG), in coordination with the Quepem police, conducted a raid late Tuesday evening at Quepem and inspected an illegally operating laterite stone quarry. Officials from the DMG carried out the inspection following inputs about unauthorized quarrying activity in the area. During the raid, the team found that the laterite stone quarry was functioning without the required permissions and clearances, violating mining regulations. Team Goemkarponn PERNEM: The collapse of a ceiling slab at the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) office in Pernem, which injured clerk Sujay Gawade, has brought the Public Works Department (PWD) under fire for alleged negligence and inaction despite repeated warnings.
