Team Goemkarponn KARASWADA: Three of the seven tourists from Satara, Maharashtra, were critically hurt after their vehicle collided with a container truck parked in Karaswada, Mapusa. Around 5:30 in the morning, the tourists were traveling to Mapusa when the disaster happened. Shankar Arate, the speeding motorist, crashed into the parked vehicle after failing to see it. The car’s front end was totally destroyed due to the force of the crash. Along with the car, the container’s driver ran away. Team Goemkarponn PERNEM: A hand tractor unintentionally ran over a 68-year-old farmer from Kotkarwada in Pernem on Tuesday, killing him. Ulhas Kotkar was working in his field when the event happened. He suffered severe injuries when the hand tractor toppled on him while he was at work. After being moved to the Pernem Health Center, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The body was given to family members for last rites after being transferred to the GMC hospital in Bambolim for an autopsy. Under the direction of Pernem Police Inspector Sachin Lokre, PSI Tukaram Chodankar carried out the inquiry.
