Team Goemkarponn PANAJI: Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar  assured electricity consumers in Goa that no payment will be required from consumers for the installation of smart meters, clarifying concerns over the ongoing rollout under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). Team Goemkarponn PANAJI: Tourism Minister Rohan Ashok Khaunte told the Goa Legislative Assembly that the proposed Unity Mall project at Chimbel does not fall within any notified Wetland Conservation Zone and that the State government will not permit any development in protected areas. Team Goemkarponn PORVORIM: A 44-year-old resident of PDA Colony, Porvorim, was assaulted by three men late on Saturday night after he objected to them consuming alcohol in a public place near his residence. According to police, the incident occurred on January 11, 2026, at around 9.10 pm near Joybees Wine Shop in Porvorim. The victim, Mihir Agshikar, residing at House No. 403/310, PDA Colony, was attacked when he requested a group of men not to drink alcohol in public. Team Goemkarponn PANAJI: The Central Government has prohibited the manufacture, sale and distribution of all oral formulations of Nimesulide above 100 mg in immediate-release dosage form, citing potential risks to human health and the availability of safer alternatives. The ban has been imposed following recommendations of the Drugs Technical Advisory Board. Team Goemkarponn PANAJI: Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Tuesday distributed financial assistance to over 200 dialysis and cancer patients at Lok Bhavan, Panaji. The aid was provided from the discretionary funds of the Governor. Speaking on the occasion, Secretary to the Governor Shri Arjun Mohan, IAS, said that the initiative was started by former Governor Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai and is being continued by the present Governor to support patients undergoing critical treatment.
