Goemkarponn Desk PANAJI: Town & Country Planning (TCP) Dept has on June 30 notified the guidelines as approved by the Goa Government to carry out alteration/modification in Regional Plan for rectification of inadvertent errors and correction of inconsistent/incoherent zoning proposals under sub- -section (2) of Section 17 of the TCP Act. Goemkarponn Desk PANAJI: High Court of Bombay at Goa said that inquiry regarding legality of the solitary confinement of 18 prisoners at State Central jail will be done through a Principal District Judge. The court was hearing the petition filed by prisoners housed at Colvale jail alleging mistreatment and assault by the prison authorities. Goemkarponn Desk PANAJI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘Orange’ alert for Goa, forecasting heavy rains in parts of both the districts of the coastal state on Thursday. The weather department has predicted inundation of houses in low-lying areas, fall of weak trees and structures, localised and short-term disruption of essential services, and low visibility during intense rain spells. The assurance from the govt came during hearing of the petition by prisoners housed at State Central Jail at Colvale.
