According to police, information was received around 11 pm on December 28 from a woman who reported that her husband was found motionless in their flat at Mandopa, Navelim. The deceased was identified as Dinesh Velip (47), a resident of Mandopa, Navelim. During preliminary enquiry, it was revealed that Velip was found lying on his bed and unresponsive. Team Goemkarponn Ponda: Ponda police have registered a case of kidnapping following a complaint that a minor girl was abducted from Usgao in Ponda taluka. According to the complaint, the incident occurred on December 24, 2025, between 3 pm and 4 pm at Nirmala Farm Poultry World, Usgao. The complainant alleged that unknown accused person(s) kidnapped his minor daughter from his lawful guardianship. Police have registered an offence in the matter and launched an investigation to trace the missing child and identify those involved. Team Goemkarponn Panaji: The Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) has decided against undertaking a fresh ward delimitation exercise ahead of the forthcoming municipal elections in Goa. The civic polls will now be conducted using the existing ward boundaries that were in place during the 2021 elections.
