Following CMs allegations that Congress government in 2006 sold Mhadei, former Chief Minister Pratapsing Rane clarified that the deletion of two clauses was neccessary for appointment of Tribunal to resolve the dispute. Following people’s protest the Village panchayat of Guleli, has rejected NOC for the IIT Goa compound wall project. As the people continued their protest for over a week opposite panchayat and did not allow the authorities to demarcate the land, the panchayat had to succumb to pressure. Pernem: Pernem police arrested two Russian nationals for growing cannabis in their rented apartment at Gawdewada, Mandrem and selling it to buyers. The police also seized canabis worth Rs 3.5 lakhs. The two arrested were Aleksei Perevalov (age 31 years) and Aleksei Rebriev (age 41 years).
