The Public Works Department said that the left bank of the Tillari canal has collapsed due to incessant rain which will lead to no water to 80 p.c of Pernem for next three days. The Chandel water treatment plant will be shut and will be repaired only after the water level in the river recedes, said PWD Executive Engineer Nitin Neurenkar. “There will be restricted water on Thursday but Friday and Saturday there will be no supply in Dhargal, Casarvanem, Pernem, Mandrem, Tuem etc,” he said.

After several appeals to the COVID19 cured people to donate plasma, the State government has taken an initiative to move into the containment zone and arrange plasma donation camps.
