PANJIM: Goa on Saturday woke up to one more Covid 19 death taking the total death tally in the state to 30. An 80 yr old succumbed to the Covid 19 virus today at 3.15 am at ESI Hospital in Margao. The victim was admitted on July 22 from Chorao, expired at 3.15 am today. The victim was suffering from diabetes with hypertension. Post operation for hip fracture, the victim was transferred from GMC with myocardial infection. Also, the victim was getting fever and was also going through breathlessness for five days.
The Supreme Court on Friday granted two weeks time to respondents in the disqualification case filed GPCC President Girish Chodankar against 10 MLAs, who jumped to BJP, last July. As many as 210 Covid patients were declared cured on Friday even as 190 fresh cases were reported for the day. As per the Health bulletin, out of 7610 samples tested 1193 were tested negative while 190 were found to be positive. The results of 6227 reports are awaited. As on date the active cases stands at 1646 while recoveries are 2865. Since January 29 till date state recorded 4540 confirmed cases with 29 deaths. At present the patients in isolation wards are 47 and 8 people are in institutional or facility quarantine.
