New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday lauded the implementation of four landmark labour codes, describing them as a historic reform that “greatly empowers our workers” and strengthens the foundation for universal social security. The codes coming into effect from today include the Code on Wages, 2019, the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, the Code on Social Security, 2020, and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020.
