Team Goemkarponn PANAJI: Deputy Collector (DRO) North Goa, Shri Ishwar Madkaikar, recently chaired the District Level NCORD Committee meeting to review ongoing efforts against drug abuse in the district. During the meeting, DySP North and officials from the NCB presented records of recent drug seizures, which were reviewed and appreciated by the committee. Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Collector urged the Education Department to intensify awareness programs in schools and colleges. He also directed all relevant agencies to strengthen intelligence gathering and enforcement actions to effectively combat the growing drug menace in North Goa.

Team Goemkarponn PANAJI: North Goa Collector Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS chaired the District Level Committee meeting to review and decide on claims submitted under the Forest Rights Act, 2006. During the meeting, a total of 94 claims from Satrem village in Sattari taluka were approved, while 7 claims were referred back to the Sub-Divisional Level Committee of Sattari for further scrutiny. The approvals mark a significant step in implementing the Forest Rights Act in North Goa, providing legal recognition to eligible forest dwellers in the region.
