AMBEDE: The autopsy conducted on the body of Shravan Devidas Barve (24), found dead outside his house in Ambede-Nagargao, has confirmed that the cause of death was asphyxiation caused by forceful compression of the neck. This discovery has raised further suspicions of foul play surrounding his death.
Shravan’s body was found around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, approximately 200 meters from the Hanuman temple in the village. On the night of the incident, Shravan’s family had left for a relative’s house in Honda, while Shravan reportedly went to watch the IPL match at a friend’s house. He was supposed to return home later that night.
When Shravan’s father, Devidas, came back the next morning, he was shocked to find his son’s body in front of their gate. Devidas mentioned that he had spoken to Shravan by phone around 9 p.m. the previous evening. Upon inspection, the house was found open, and Shravan’s phone was still inside the house.
The Valpoi police have seized Shravan’s phone to examine calls made after 11 p.m. on Monday night. North Goa SP Akshat Kaushal stated that a special police team has been formed to investigate the matter thoroughly.
After the autopsy was completed on Wednesday, Shravan’s body was returned to the family for final rites, which were held later in the evening, attended by numerous relatives and friends.
