CANACONA: The Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), South Goa District, organised an informative awareness session at Shree Balram Residential High School aimed at educating students on important legal and social issues.
The session focused on the importance of understanding laws and responsibilities in today’s fast-changing world. Experts highlighted key topics such as traffic regulations, cyber crime risks, the legal framework protecting children, and the harmful effects of substance abuse. Students were encouraged to become informed, responsible and law-abiding citizens.
The programme was graced by Smt. Sunita A. Gaunekar, Principal Magistrate of the Juvenile Justice Board, South Goa District, who emphasised the role of awareness in preventing juvenile offences and ensuring child protection.
The session was further enriched by Adv. Sumita Sawant Dessai, Member of the Juvenile Justice Board, and Adv. Vahida Yelgar, Advocate under Free Legal Aid, who shared valuable insights on legal rights, responsibilities and available support systems.
The initiative proved to be an enlightening and empowering experience for students, reinforcing the importance of awareness in building a more responsible and law-conscious society.
