PANAJI: Baale Tigers and Sherwin Shaw Falcons secured impressive victories in their league matches of the ongoing PGML 5.0 tournament at the Panjim Gymkhana ground, boosting their positions on the points table. In the morning fixture, Priority Titans won the toss and chose to bat but were restricted to 138 for 8 in 20 overs by a disciplined Baale Tigers bowling attack. Atharva Kumar top-scored with a fighting 53, supported by Yeshwant Barde’s 24, while Harshal Shah and Prasad Patil each claimed three wickets to keep the Titans under control. In reply, Baale Tigers chased the target confidently, with Sandip Dahad scoring 49 and Dishan Pujari contributing 34 to lay a strong foundation. The innings was completed by Prasad Patil (21 not out) and Rajaram Kundaikar (28 not out), guiding the team to a six-wicket win in 19.2 overs.
In the afternoon match, Sun Estate Warriors posted 155 for 8 after batting first, with contributions from Harsh Jethaji (32) and Rohit Rane (31). The Sherwin Shaw Falcons bowlers maintained pressure throughout, with Tunish Sawkar taking three wickets and Iftikhar Agha two. While chasing, the Falcons adopted an aggressive approach, led by Prajyot Rivonker’s 41 and Gourav Desai’s 34. Tunish Sawkar then delivered a spectacular cameo of 40 runs off just 16 balls, propelling Sherwin Shaw Falcons to 156 for 5 in 16.4 overs and a five-wicket triumph. Sawkar’s all-round display earned him the Player of the Match award.
With these wins, Baale Tigers and Sherwin Shaw Falcons continue to strengthen their campaigns in PGML 5.0, demonstrating strong batting depth and effective bowling strategies as the tournament progresses.
