PANAJI: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev today called upon senior Hindu religious leaders, including Shankaracharyas, to take personal responsibility for cow protection by adopting and rearing cows, asserting that slogans and conferences alone cannot safeguard the cow.
“Cow protection is a collective responsibility. It cannot be achieved merely through seminars or slogans. The cow must be reared,” Ramdev told reporters in Panaji.
He said those who speak about cow protection should lead by example. “Senior saints, seers, and Shankaracharyas should themselves rear cows—one, two, five, or even ten thousand. Every Hindu should rear a cow. Only cow rearing will ensure real cow protection,” he added.
Speaking on Patanjali’s expansion plans, Baba Ramdev announced that Goa will soon be home to Patanjali’s largest wellness centre after Haridwar. He said the project will be developed with the support of the Goa government.
“After Patanjali Yogpeeth, the biggest Patanjali wellness centre will be built here in Goa with the cooperation of the state government,” Ramdev said.
He added that the Goa government is making extensive arrangements to promote wellness tourism by developing a large pool of trained therapists and doctors.
The proposed centre is expected to strengthen Goa’s position as a wellness destination while creating employment opportunities in the health and wellness sector.
