PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has clarified that Balrath buses are meant strictly for high school students residing within a 3 km radius of their schools.
He warned that some schools were misusing the service for longer routes of 15–20 km, which goes against the scheme’s purpose.
“The government is giving full grants for these buses, but they must be used correctly,” Sawant said. He added that a new scheme is in the works to expand the Balrath fleet and improve student transport facilities.
