AGACAIM: Agacaim police have registered a case against a 21-year-old taxi driver for rash and negligent driving that led to a road accident near the Athletic Stadium at Bambolim.
According to the complaint lodged by Head Constable Uday Palkar on September 30, the incident took place on September 25 at around 6.10 pm. The accused, identified as Sachin Parwar (21), a resident of Colva, was driving a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (GA-08-Z-0581) from Panaji towards Goa Velha.
When he reached the spot where the service road ends near the stadium, he allegedly took a sudden left turn and collided with a Honda Dream Yuga motorcycle (GA-07-V-2293) that was coming from the service road.
The motorcyclist, Shivam Katheria (24) of Zuarinagar, sustained a grievous leg injury, while the pillion rider, Raiza Saviola De Souza (25) of Goa Velha, suffered minor injuries.
Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
