VASCO: In a shocking incident, a banyan tree fell on a moving car early Sunday morning.
According to information from Goencho Ekvott Founder member Orville Dourado, the unfortunate incident occurred at around 7.45 am.
“The incident occurred on the border of Cansaulim and Velsao village and a Banyan tree came crashing down amidst strong gusts of wind and incessant rains. The car was being driven by Andrew Teodosio and his wife Brenda Teodosio, a former panch member, was also present in the car during the incident,” he said.
“Fortunately, the couple escaped unhurt miraculously in the incident but Brenda Teodosio is in a state of shock having survived the incident. However, the car was damaged in the incident and the villagers have requested the authorities to clear dangerous trees in the area. Villagers fear that more trees could come down in unsuspecting motorists and have asked the authorities to act on top priority,” said Dourado.
