PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that basic scientific education is critical and should be taught in a creative way.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was addressing the gathering after inaugurating Vigyan Setu.
“The majority of students will choose science because they have a strong interest in it. Basic scientific education is critical and should be taught in a creative way,” said Sawant
He further said that Vigyan Setu will be adopted in all schools throughout the upcoming academic year.
Speaking further Sawant said that engineers use technology to develop nations, and engineering bodies should make recommendations to the government on various engineering projects.
“We are eager to hear your proposals and will put them into action. Students should communicate their unique ideas with the government and our departments,” he added
CM also witnessed the Signing of MoU between the Goa University and Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research, Warnemuende, Germany.
He said that the the MoU is on ‘Comparative Interdisciplinary research on variability and trends in estuaries and coastal waters- a holistic view on regional shallow water systems’.
“This MoU is designed to enhance knowledge, promote technological advances, and foster innovative solutions in critical areas such as Blue Water Economy, Sensor Development, and Numerical Simulation,” he added
Sawant also claimed that it reflects a forward-thinking vision to protect and sustainably utilize ocean resources while creating opportunities for economic growth and environmental conservation.
“The Govt of Goa is steadfast in its commitment to extend support with necessary resources & policy frameworks, a conducive environment for collaborative efforts in scientific exploration,” CM said
