PANAJI: The Block Development Officer (BDO), Tiswadi, has issued an order on February 25 relieving St Cruz Panchayat Secretary Diwakar Salelkar from his post.
The action follows a corruption case registered by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) against the secretary and certain panch members of Village Panchayat Santa Cruz, based on a complaint filed by panch member Inacio Domnic Pereira.
Sources stated that despite the earlier transfer order, the secretary had not been relieved from his duties, prompting Pereira to question the delay in implementing the order.
Following this, the BDO issued the formal order relieving Salelkar from the panchayat.
Further action in connection with the ACB case is awaited.
