Stating that more than 50 per cent patients administered plasma therapy have recovered from COVID19, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has urged COVID survivors to come forward and donate plasma.
“We need more people to come forward and save lives. They must not just remain survivors but become saviours of other lives,” Rane said.
He further said that about 32 persons have been administered plasma till date.
“50 p.c of the people administered plasma have recovered from COVID19,” he said.
GMC Dean Dr Shivanand Bandekar lamented that despite being cured people are not coming forward to save lives.
“The daily requirement is of 20-25 plasma packets but GMC gets only five or less a day,” he said.
The Health Minister also justified the Health director and other politicians getting admitted in private hospital saying it is their personal choice.
“I have confidence and people of Goa have confidence that the GMC has the best facilities for any patients,” he said.
