PANAJI: Goa Forward Party (GFP) Convenor Environment Cell Vikas Bhagat today has questioned the Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar as to why the Electric Vehicle Subsidy scheme was dumped inspite assurance on the floor of the house.
Bhagat was reacting to the Hydrogen Mission Policy announcement by Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar.
“Before getting Hydrogen Mission Policy kindly throw light on EV Policy. Why is the scheme dumped inspite of assurance on the floor of the house,’ said Bhagat.
He further questioned whether there is no money with BJP Government led by Pramod Sawant.
Goa government’s Department of New & Renewable Energy announced that it will no longer provide subsidies for electric cars (EVs) in the state with effect from 31 July 2022.
Goa is now the first state in the nation to stop providing incentives for EVs. The government circular has not explained the reasons for this surprising step. It was not too far back that a ruling party minister had advised car buyers to buy EVs.
