PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today informed that the accused was involved in the Benaulim rape case, who is also a government servant suspended from the Agriculture department.
“I am placing on the table of the House that accused involved in Benaulim rape case which is also government servant has been suspended from Agriculture department,” CM Sawant told House.
Chaos was witnessed in Goa Assembly yesterday over the Benaulim rape case issue with MLA Vijai Sardesai, alleging that a highly influential person called SP South save two accused persons.
Vijai refused to name the person, alleging that political involvement was to save the two accused persons.
Colva police had arrested four persons accused of raping two minor girls at Benaulim.
The incident happened on Sanday early morning at 3:30 am, near the Taj hotel.
The two girls were out with friends for birthday celebrations wherein the accused came as policemen. The friends of the victim girls were assaulted. All four accused raped both minor girls. The accused have been identified as Asif Hateli, Housing Board Gogal, Rajesh Mane, Gajanand Chinchinkar and Nitin Yabbal.
