CANACONA: Janardhan Bhandari has been unanimously re-elected as president of the Canacona Sports & Cultural Club (CSCC) of Canacona Sports Academy for the fifth consecutive term. The election took place at the 24th Annual General Meeting of the Academy held on September 7 at Shradhanand Vidyalaya, Painginim. Bhandari, who will serve a three-year term from 2025 to 2028, was chosen unopposed as members reposed faith in his leadership and the work carried out under his guidance. Established 24 years ago, CSCC has been instrumental in nurturing sporting talent from the remote taluka of Canacona, producing over 65 players who have represented Goa at the national level and four who have represented India at major international events including the Baseball World Cup, Macau Marathon, and Asian Baseball Championship. The new executive committee includes Vice-Presidents Sajjan Desai and Surabh Kamat, Secretary Sharendra Naik, Treasurer Sunil Painginkar, Joint Secretary Venkatray Naik, and Executive Members Chetali Bhandari, Ratnakar Raikar, Vishal Prabhudesai, Durgesh Gaonkar, and Cleston Viegas.
