PANAJI: The Bharat Safety Yatra – Goa Edition and Safe India Hero Plus Awards witnessed a resounding success at the function held recently in Bambolim.
The event organized by Fire and Safety Magazine was held in collaboration with the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services and served as a grand platform to honour the dedication and heroism of fire safety professionals.
On the occasion, 51 firemen and fire officers, both serving and retired were felicitated for their exemplary bravery and heroism. Seven leading hotels and eight industrial plants were recognized for their outstanding contributions to fire safety management.
Nitin Raiker, Director, Fire and Emergency Services, delivered an insightful presentation on “Industrial Fire Safety in High-Risk/Hazardous Units” at the event. Shri Raiker emphasized the critical role of fire safety protocols, risk assessment, and advanced firefighting strategies in hazardous industrial environments. He highlighted the need for strict adherence to fire prevention measures, modernized emergency response systems, and continuous training for personnel to mitigate risks in high-hazard units such as chemical plants, refineries, and heavy manufacturing facilities.
Speaking further, Raiker stated, “Industrial safety is not just a regulatory requirement but a collective responsibility. Effective fire prevention and emergency preparedness can save lives and protect assets. It is imperative for industries to invest in fire safety infrastructure, conduct regular audits, and train their workforce in emergency response.”
Raiker’s session was highly appreciated for its practical insights and industry-specific safety strategies, reinforcing the importance of proactive fire safety management in hazardous industrial operations.
