CANACONA: Santosh Revonkar, 43 the deceased in the roadside attack late Sunday evening has died of injury in his Cervical Spine after the accused pushed the deceased onto the ground, states Canacona Police citing a post-mortem report.
According to Canacona PI Harish Raut Dessai, Rohan Naik (32) assaulted Santosh Revonkar (43) resident of Potkem-Poinguinim with fist blows and pushed him on the ground thereby causing injury to his cervical spine which led to his death.
While the accused who has fled from the site of the offence leaving his motorbike is traced and placed under arrest u/s 302 IPC and is in police custody, Investigation officer Canacona PI Harish Raut Dessai informed the investigation is in progress under the guidance and supervision of SDPO Tikam Singh Verma and SP (South) Sunita Sawant.
IO PI Raut Dessai informed the deceased body will be handed over to the family on Tuesday for cremation.
