PANAJI: Bhatti Sports Club secured a commanding 5-1 victory over Cumborda SC to book their place in the semifinals of the Silver Jubilee Cup 2025 Interward Football Tournament, organised by Sporting Club Virabhat at the St Alex Church ground in Curtorim on Wednesday.
Cumborda had a golden opportunity to take an early lead in the 5th minute when Valzino Fernandes’ powerful shot struck the post and deflected out of play. However, it was Bhatti SC who struck first, with Tony Dias opening the scoring in the 10th minute. The forward doubled the lead just ten minutes later, giving Bhatti a solid 2-0 advantage going into halftime.
Bhatti continued their dominance in the second half, with Ralf Dias extending the lead in the 35th minute. Tony Dias then completed his hat-trick in the 40th minute, making it 4-0. Cumborda managed to pull one back through Roy Fernandes in the 45th minute, but Bhatti sealed the match with a fifth goal from Ralf Dias in the 50th minute.
Tony Dias was awarded the Man of the Match for his outstanding hat-trick performance. The award was presented by Baptisto Fernandes, a member of Sporting Club Virabhat.
