New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday released the Bharatiya Janata Party’s manifesto for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections, outlining the party’s vision and key promises for the state.
The document, launched at an event in Kolkata, focuses on addressing concerns across multiple sections of society. It highlights measures aimed at supporting farmers facing crop related uncertainties, creating employment opportunities for youth, and improving safety and security for women.
Presenting the manifesto, Shah stated that it offers a roadmap to address what he described as widespread dissatisfaction in the state. He emphasised that the proposals are designed to instil confidence among citizens while preserving Bengal’s cultural identity and pride.
The manifesto positions itself as a comprehensive plan to tackle economic and social challenges, while also promising development and governance reforms. It seeks to appeal to a broad voter base by addressing everyday concerns such as livelihoods, safety and opportunities for growth.
The West Bengal Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in two phases, setting the stage for a closely contested political battle.
