Bicholim Municipal Council (BMC) was in the news after a no-confidence motion was tabled against the chairperson of Kundan Falari.
What was surprising is that the motion has been filed by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) councilors against their own BJP-sponsored chairperson.
BMC had no opposition and all the independents had supported the ruling dispensation.
Murmurs of local MLA Dr Chandrakant Shetye being involved in orchestrating the motion had been making rounds. However, Shetye had distanced himself from the controversy.
