PANAJI: In a significant achievement for Goa Police, Bicholim Police Station has been ranked as the 5th best police station in the country for 2025 by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The recognition follows an independent survey conducted by the ministry in September, evaluating crime control, detection, infrastructure and overall public service delivery.
Bicholim PS, led by PI Vijay Rane under the supervision of SDPO Shridevi B. V. and the then SP North Rahul Gupta, recorded outstanding performance in crime management and detection rates, placing it among the top-performing stations nationwide.
In addition to its operational excellence, the police station has undergone a major infrastructure upgrade over the past six months. New facilities include a child-friendly room, a gym, an improved canteen for staff and hygienic barracks, all of which contributed to its high ranking.
Officials said the national recognition is a proud moment for the Goa Police and the Home Department, reflecting their continued efforts to enhance policing standards in the state.
