PANAJI: The newly-appointed Executive Director of the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG), Ajay Gaude, has landed in controversy on the very day he assumed office after the State government served him a show-cause notice over an extravagant welcome arranged at the SAG headquarters.
Gaude, a senior officer of the Goa Civil Service, formally took charge on Monday.
His entry, however, was marked by a grand reception featuring floral decorations and a drum procession, images of which quickly made rounds on social media.
The Chief Secretary, taking note of the incident, described the celebration as conduct unbecoming of a government officer and asked Gaude to explain why disciplinary action should not be taken against him.
