ANJUNA: Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC) police raided one of the largest LSD rackets in the State, taking into possession 1,825 LSD blot papers valued at Rs 91 lakh on the global market.
The name of the non-Goan who was detained by the police in Anjuna has been withheld. In addition to LSD, the accused’s possession of other substances was recovered by the ANC.
The total amount of drugs seized is an astounding Rs 1.1 crore. The ANC has disrupted a nationwide drug trafficking network in India by apprehending the offenders.
The accused, according to the police, used to receive large quantities of contraband concealed in books and picture frames by courier and then transfer them via courier to his clients around the nation in accordance with their needs.
The accused, who has been residing in Goa for a while, used to purchase large quantities of drugs from the dark web and resell them to his clients, who were primarily from the nation’s largest cities’ party circuits.
Since last month, the ANC has been working on this operation and has been closely monitoring his whereabouts for about a month. Late on Monday night, the ANC ambushed the accused, stormed his Anjuna residence, and took the drugs.
Drugs classified as hallucinogens include LSD, also known as lysergic acid diethylamide, which is based on synthetic chemicals. The majority of LSD abusers are young people and party animals. A commercial quantity of 0.1 grams of LSD is possessed, and as of right now, this is the biggest LSD blot seizure in recorded history. The amount seized is 270 times the amount sold.
This seizure was the fifth drug bust by ANC in the last 12 days taking the total amount of drugs seized to Rs 1.25 crore. The ANC has continued their crackdown on drug trafficking and more arrests are likely to happen.
