CANACONA: A 51-year-old man from Agonda dies after his Scooter was hit head-on by a Rent-A-Cab Car at Agonda late Wednesday night.
According to police, Sanju Laxman Naikgaunkar, 51, succumbed to his injuries at CHC he suffered after his Scooter (GA10 B5396) was dashed by an oncoming Car (GA- 07 T 0253) driven by tourists from Haryana @ about 9.40 pm on Wednesday night.
Police further informed that Arjun Singh, 25 driving the car in a rash and negligent manner, drove it towards the right side of the road at Panna (near Sanjay Bandekar’s house) and hit the Scooter coming on its side in the opposite direction throwing the rider on the road.
Sanju, who was returning to his house and suffered injuries, was immediately shifted to Community Health Centre (CHC) however breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
Canacona police arrested Singh for rash and negligent driving invoking U/s 279, 304(A) IPC and PSI Swadesh Dessai is investigating the case further under the supervision of PI Chandrakant Gawas.
