PANAJI: The team from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, Goa campus, emerged as winner in the state-level round of RBI90Quiz, a nationwide general knowledge-based quiz competition for undergraduate students launched by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as part of its 90th anniversary celebrations. Forty-four teams from various educational institutes in Goa took part in the State-level competition held at Panjim Convention Centre, Panaji, on October 10, 2024. Each team comprises two students.
The BITS Pilani team comprising Shri Dhruv Chandak and Shri Ketav Shah emerged as the winner, followed by the teams from Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi, and Shree Rayeshwar Institute of Engineering & Information Technology, Shiroda in second and third places, respectively. Prizes for the top three teams are ₹2 lakh, ₹1.5 lakh, and ₹1 lakh, respectively.
The winning team will now compete in the zonal round, which will take place between November 21, 2024, and December 4, 2024. The national finale will be held in Mumbai in December 2024. The first, second, and third prize winners in the zonal round will be awarded ₹5 lakh, ₹4 lakh and ₹3 lakh respectively, while the top three teams in the national finale will be given ₹10 lakh, ₹ 8 lakh, and ₹6 lakh.
To commemorate the 90th year of its operations this year, RBI has planned a series of events throughout the year to mark the milestone. The RBI90Quiz is a team-based contest, being held in multiple stages. The online phase was conducted from September 19-21, 2024. Based on the performance in the online phase, college teams were selected for participation in State-level rounds.
